  • From Empty Validation to Unshakable Faith: Finding Your Life in Jesus with Inah Miller
    Jun 4 2025

    Send us a text

Looking for our worth in things of this world can seem like the built in human response in life. Finding ourselves in friends, careers, relationships & finances can seem like the right thing to do, but it leaves us empty and still not knowing who we are. It can even make us question our faith in God.

Wouldn't living a life of unshakable faith be a wonderful feeling? Knowing with no doubt in your mind that you belong to God and He loves you unconditionally! That knowing can be your reality, the way you live your life. That was the case for the guest on the podcast today, Inah. She is a wonderful friend of mine who started off looking in all the wrong places to find out who she was, until God met her in amazing ways and she said yes to him. Yes to his leading, yes to the calling on her life even when she had no idea where it would lead.

Inah recently graduated from Huntington University completing her degree in cross-cultural studies and TESOL. She also just spent 7 months on the Arabian Peninsula teaching English and learning Arabic. She is young woman who has a heart to serve the Lord and is unashamed to share about what that looks like in every day life. It's not always easy and she shares the struggles she has had along the way, including questioning her faith while over seas on mission!

Her faith is inspiring. We all need to know that it's okay to ask hard questions of God, because he has all the right answers.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Find your life in Jesus, don’t let the enemy overtake you when you feel weak
    • Finding validation in friends, jobs, success will always let you don’t
    • It can be hard to start sharing what God is doing in your life, but it builds your faith and others each time you share
    • All we have to do is say yes, and Jesus takes care of the rest
    • We don’t have to know what things will look like in our future, we need to keep trusting Jesus and following Him
    • Asking questions to make your faith your own is important

  • Overcoming Overwhelm: The Journey to an Untroubled Heart with Kara Stout
    May 28 2025

    Send us a text

Overwhelm feels inescapable. Having a heart that isn't weighed down with the weight and responsibilities that are on our shoulders seems impossible.

That is precisely why I talked with my new friend Kara about her newly released devotional, An Untroubled Heart: Calming Anxiety and Finding God's Peace. Her heart is for us experience God in a real and intimate way that changes how we live our everyday lives. She wants us to realized the trust of Psalms 147: 3-5, seeing God as the personal yet powerful God that he is. Our Father in heaven who cares about every big or little thing that happens in our lives and longs for us to run to him for peace. And that's exactly what we talk about on today's episode.

Kara is a writer, wife, and new adoptive mom living in Los Angeles, California. Kara writes prayers and devotionals on her social media and has also written devotionals for Her True Worth, a women’s online ministry. Kara has her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University and her master’s degree in counseling from Loyola University Chicago. After walking through a personal medical crisis and the loss of both of her parents to cancer, her life radically changed, and her complete dependency on God for strength and peace became a non-negotiable. Her hope is to encourage women in their faith, pointing them to their Great Comforter and Greatest Companion.

    Key Takeaways:

    • We can be honest with God about our emotions because He is personal yet powerful
    • There is so much freedom in being vulnerable with the Lord
    • Continually being in God’s word gives us peace and a strength that shifts our perspective
    • We must remain persistent in going to God in prayer, being in His word and being aware that we need to be with Him
    • God gives us the gift of peace that doesn’t make sense in our humanness, but is perfect in His power

  • Embracing Celebration When Life Feels Heavy with Nicole Zasowski
    May 21 2025

    Send us a text

Joy & celebration can feel like it's for other people but not for you, right? I get it, I've been there before and so has the guest on the podcast today. Nicole has actually been studying this very thing from a personal and Christian family therapist point of view for years and her insight is life changing.

Nicole Zasowski is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the author of “What If It’s Wonderful?” and “From Lost to Found.” As an old soul who wears her heart proudly on her sleeve, she enjoys writing and speaking on topics that merge her professional knowledge, faith and personal experience. Nicole lives in Connecticut with her husband and their three young children.

Daring Joy takes a fresh approach to studying six familiar women in the Bible—Eve, Sarah, Miriam, Mary the mother of Jesus, Elizabeth and Mary Magdalene—understanding their stories in relationship to the human experience and God’s heart for our joy. It helps us get real life examples of what joy looks like in our lives and what it doesn't look like.

Here is a link to the conversation Nicole and I had last year on the podcast about her book What If It's Wonderful.

    Key Takeaways:

    • We can be hesitant to embrace joy when we experience a lot of loss
    • Joy is the most vulnerable emotion we experience because when you hold something with joy it is automatically accompanied by the possibility of loss
    • It can feel safer to not hold joy at all than to risk pain
    • We can live a lifestyle of joy & celebration even when our circumstances don’t match up with that
    • Sometimes when we are hesitant to celebrate, it’s because we’ve made it about ourselves and not God

  • Faith Amidst Trials: Discovering God's Goodness with Ashton Draper
    May 14 2025

    Send us a text

As humans we live in a fallen world, which means we will face hardship, trials, disease, illness.... you name it. When we are walking that path it can be difficult to keep our eyes focused on Jesus. Seeing God's goodness and keeping our Fatih can feel impossible when one thing after another seems to be coming at us. I've experienced it and can testify to that! But like my guest today, I can also testify to God's goodness even in the midst of those trials and difficulties.

Ashton Draper is a wife and mother to four children in Northeast Indiana. She has a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language interpreting from Troy University. She currently homeschools her children while taking care of the home and picking up occasional interpreting assignments. She loves the show Friends and playing games with family on the weekends. She is passionate about being vulnerable with her story in order to encourage other believers in their own stories. She wrote a book called, Big Yellow House: God’s Goodness Revealed: Growing Through Hardship in Marriage and Health while on the Path to Adoption.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Your story can encourage others going through hard things
    • God can make good from all the hard things happening in our lives
    • God is faithful to help us persevere through all the valleys of life
    • Don’t rely on your feelings, rely on the truth of scripture
    • Don’t be ashamed to ask for help
    • When you have tangible moments with the Lord, stop and look back, leaning on them to get you through the current trial, if you don’t have those moments, borrow from others

  • From Brokenness to Beauty: God’s Extravagant Grace with Kara Diehl
    Apr 30 2025

    Send us a text

Beauty can come from the brokenness in our lives. Beauty from ashes, we hear in scripture. Today we are going to talk about God's extravagant grace for us and how we can find that in scripture.

I can’t wait for you to hear this week’s episode! I had the joy of sitting down with Kara Diehl, the heart behind Gracelets—a faith-based jewelry company with a mission that goes so much deeper than pretty accessories.

Kara’s story is powerful. For years, she struggled to believe that God truly loved her. But out of that pain, God birthed something beautiful: Gracelets. Each one is intentionally designed to help women share the truth of God’s Word—with themselves and with others.

We talk about how God took Kara’s past hurts and used them to bring healing, not only to her, but to women around the world through these sweet little gracelets that carry big messages of hope. Wearable scripture that can remind us of God's promises!

This episode is for the woman who needs reminded that her story isn’t over. That God’s love is real. And that He can use anything for His glory.

If you’ve ever doubted His love or struggled to share your faith, Kara’s story will meet you right where you are.

    Key Takeaways:

    • God woos us with His love, mercy and grace and we can respond by trusting Him
    • As we read God’s word the Spirit he knit together inside of us is filled by the Holy Spirit which gives us true life
    • Scripture gives us an opportunity for healing that only God offers
    • We can begin to trust God in little increments and those grow over time
    • God’s word never returns void, pray it, believe it and trust Him

  • Overcoming Self-Sabotage and Embracing Your True Potential with Mary Marantz
    Apr 23 2025

    Send us a text

Have you ever felt underestimated before? When I stop to really think about that I can say, definitely yes I have... but it's mainly MYSELF that this type of judgement is coming. The saying "I'm my own worst critic" is a true statement in my life, maybe it has been in your own too. Whether it's others who are underestimating us or ourselves, it can do a number on our self-esteem and understanding our worth.

My wonderful friend Mary Marantz is releasing a book NEXT WEEK on this very topic! She has personal experience with being underestimated just like us, only she is on the other side of some of these struggles and is offering us all of the strategies to overcome them!

Mary is the girl who grew up in a single wide trailer in rural West Virginia, before making her way all the way to the hallowed halls of Yale Law School... only to end up still not feeling like enough. Like she wrote in her first book, Dirt, "What if success is where the real trouble began? What if we get everything we ever wanted, only to find out it still doesn't change a thing about not liking this skin we have to do life in?"

She has spent the last five years figuring out how to separate her worth from her achieving. In other words, figuring out WHO she is apart from WHAT she does. She helps people like us own the muddy parts of our stories and give up achieving for our worth. She is the host of the wildly popular podcast, The Mary Marantz Show, has written multiple bestselling books and has been featured on CNN, Hallmark Home & Family and many more!

Mary is one of those friends who is quirky and fun but can really dig deep and make you think long and hard on subjects that will transform your life. This book, Underestimated, is no different!

    Key Takeaways:

    • We are the ones who underestimate ourselves most often
    • Fear is a really boring liar & he attacks all of us with the same scripts
    • Because fear is so predictable we can recognize it quickly and be equipped with ways to defeat it
    • When you name the fear, it takes its power away!
    • Over apologizing and people pleasing are part of how we underestimate ourselves
    • Breaking free from this is much more simple than we think!

  • How God Hears Us: The Powerful Presence of Women in the Resurrection Story with Elisa Morgan
    Apr 16 2025

    Send us a text

Happy Holy Week! I pray that you've been able to take time this week to be in God's Word studying the significance of what Jesus did for us on the cross. When you stop and truly think about it, it brings you to a place of awe. Not only did Jesus sacrifice himself for our sins but God the Father sacrificed His only son for people he knew would still be rebellious. But he loved us so much that it was worth it. WOW! The reality of that can bring you to your knees pretty fast can't it?

This week is all about Easter but looking at it in a new light. I had the blessed opportunity to talk with Elisa Morgan about the women who were at the cross and why that was so significant. Elisa was named by Christianity Today as one of the top 50 women influencing today's church and culture and is one of today's most sought-after authors, speakers and leaders. She has authored over 25 books on mothering, spiritual formation and evangelism. Elisa co-hosts the Our Daily Bread Ministries podcasts Discover the Word and God Hears Her. For twenty years, Elisa Morgan served as CEO of MOPS International and now serves as President Emerita. She has studied women in scripture more times than I can count, so I asked her to come and share with us about the topic!

Her insight on this was priceless and I'm so excited to share this conversation with you. Jesus was revolutionary for women. He rewrote the narrative for their worth in the culture and helped people realize how important women are to God. Not elevating them above men but making it known that they are just as precious to him as anyone else. Jesus came to raise up the lowly against what society taught.

    Key Takeaways!

    • Easter returns us to awe
    • Jesus was revolutionary for women, they were often overlooked & undervalued and he valued them greatly
    • Jesus came to redeem everything & everyone
    • Stop looking for the living among the dead, we are tempted to go back to those places where God showed up once and look for him there again - don’t miss him right here and right now
    • Jesus’ redemption of us on the cross allows God the Father to see us through the righteousness of Jesus, we need to live like it!
