A funny, inspirational, REAL podcast that correlates with the weekly Come Follow Me curriculum of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The host, Melanie Stroud, shares her thoughts about the weekly lessons and gives REAL LIFE examples showing how we can apply the scriptures to our lives every day One mother wrote that her son said recently, "Melanie is a big fan of Heavenly Father - you can tell." That's the truth! She is! If you want to grow closer to the Savior and the scriptures and want some laughs along the way, this is the podcast for you!2020 Come Follow Me for Us Cristianismo Espiritualidad Ministerio y Evangelismo

  • Episode 45 - The Articles of Faith and Official Declarations 1 and 2 "We Believe"
    Dec 10 2025

In this episode, I dive into the Articles of Faith and Official Declarations 1 and 2 and talk about what they teach us about revelation, change, and trusting living prophets. I share how the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, help us sort truth from noise, why repentance and faith in Christ are so central, and how we can honor others' right to worship while holding fast to our own beliefs. In the end, I come back to Nephi's "nevertheless": we don't know the meaning of all things, but we do know that God loves His children—and that truth is enough to keep us on the covenant path.

Don't forget to read the extra resources linked in this lesson. There was a lot of interesting stuff there!

  • Episode 44 - Doctrine and Covenants 135–136, He Has Sealed His Mission and His Works with His Own Blood" + Your Testimonies of Joseph Smith
    Dec 2 2025

This episode is about Joseph Smith. This episode includes testimonies from many different people.

    From the manual:

The afternoon of June 27, 1844, found Joseph and Hyrum Smith in jail once again, accompanied by John Taylor and Willard Richards. They believed they were innocent of any crime, but they submitted to arrest, hoping to prevent violence against the Saints in Nauvoo. This wasn't the first time that enemies of the Church had put the Prophet Joseph in prison, but this time he seemed to know that he would not return alive. He and his friends tried to comfort each other by reading from the Book of Mormon and singing hymns. Then gunshots were heard, and within a few minutes the mortal lives of Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum had come to an end.

And yet it was not the end of the divine cause they had embraced. And it was not the end of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There was more work to do and more revelation that would guide the Church forward. Killing the Prophet could not kill the work of God.

Please also watch this, I forgot to mention it on the podcast but it's one of my all time favorite talks about the Prophet Joseph Smith. It's called, "Safety for the Soul" by Jeffrey R Holland.

Episode 43 Doctrine and Covenants 133–134 – "Prepare Ye for the Coming of the Bridegroom"

In this week's episode covering Doctrine and Covenants 133–134, I talk about preparing for the coming of the Bridegroom—fleeing Babylon, building Zion, and finding joy in doing God's work. From threshing wheat to sharing the gospel on an airplane, this episode reminds us that even the weak can do great things with God's help.

Melanie I love that you can talk to people so easily. I wish I could be that way. We recently traveled and we didn’t talk to anyone. I need to make that my new goal to reach out to people wherever we are and not be afraid. Thanks for your example and for sharing your experiences!❤️

I wish I had known about this podcast months ago. I will be going back and listening to the Book of Mormon podcasts along side the new ones for the Doctrine and Covenants.

Really enjoy listening

My husband and I were first introduced to Come Follow Me for Us about a year ago. We immediately fell in love with Melanie and her amazing insights on the lessons she was teaching from. My husband and I have cried with her, laughed with her, and cheered her on from the sidelines. I have felt an abundance of The Spirit while listening to the podcast. My husband is in the process of getting re-baptized and I know if it weren't for this podcast he wouldn't be so close to this goal (expecting his re-baptism Spring/Summer 2021). I can honestly say that there have been many times that Melanie has inspired him to stay on the right path in spite of Satan tempting him to do otherwise. I myself have found peace and understanding in many paths of my own life based on what I've heard in the podcast. Thank you Melanie for such an amazing addition to our gospel study! We love and pray for you and your always. By the way, my mother has six children and all but one have drifted from the church at one point or another. Her dream is to one day have all six of us at the temple together with her. My oldest sister and my brother both went through the temple and have fallen away. My second oldest sister has not been through the temple, YET. But me and my two other sisters (the youngest three) have all been to the temple and are very active in church. My baby sister went through January 2009 then my sister just older than me went through September 2018 and finally I was endowed March 16, 2019. Coming up on two years and I can say I have never been stronger in my faith than I am now. I miss attending the temple and await the day I get to be sealed to my husband (Hopefully in just over a year). But I mention this because I want you to know that my mom knows your struggle and she told me once that all she can do is pray for her children and so far it has helped a ton and one day we will all be in the celestial room together, around my mom and her dream will come true. I believe with all my heart that the faith and prayers of a mother hold the Power of Jesus Christ more than we can even imagine.

Thank you again for this wonderful podcast and we look forward to many more.

Excellent combination of religious depth and how it relates to our modern lives with a healthy dose of humor to make it all that much more relatable. Melanie is my secret best friend and doppelganger. I too have survived cancer, divorce, etc and love donuts a little too much. It gives me hope that I won't be single forever because she has been through many life struggles and is happily married now. I believe I first found her podcast and I was in the hospital for my bone marrow transplant during covid in 2020.
