  • From Sinai’s Fear to Zion’s Joy: A Better Word in Christ
    Jul 30 2025

In today’s Coffee with the Superintendent, we step into one of the most powerful contrasts in Scripture—Hebrews 12:18–24—where the fearsome thunder of Mount Sinai gives way to the joyful welcome of Mount Zion. We’ll explore how the Jewish audience would have understood this vivid imagery, how the historical figures and places anchor its meaning, and how Jesus, as the mediator of the New Covenant, fulfills every promise with a better word than the blood of Abel. Then, in the Second Pour, we pause to celebrate our Berean family—alumni Gregory Adams, Matthew Burns, and Kyla Usher, along with our current students Kori in 3rd grade and Emma in 1st grade.
