  • Lady Chatterleys Lover by D. H. Lawrence ~ Full Audiobook [romance]
    Oct 2 2025
Lady Chatterleys Lover by D. H. Lawrence audiobook. Genre: romance Immerse yourself in D. H. Lawrence’s daring, lyrical tale of love, desire and social fracture: Lady Chatterley’s Lover follows Constance Reid—trapped in an emotionally distant marriage to an aristocratic intellectual—and her passionate, awakening relationship with the gamekeeper Oliver Mellors. On the wind-swept estates and in the intimate hush of woodlands, Lawrence’s prose finds the electric intersections between body and soul, class and longing, industrial modernity and the healing rhythms of the land. This audiobook brings those textures to life: a skilled narrator can render Lawrence’s sensual imagery, sharp social critique and vulnerable interiority with nuance, turning every quiet confession and charged silence into an experience that is at once personal and epochal. Listen for the novel’s urgent exploration of human connection—how speech, touch and honesty can both redeem and disrupt—and for the emotional honesty that made the book controversial, influential and enduring. Whether you come for its raw romance, its keen observations of class and labor, or its lush, poetic sentences, this performance invites you to witness a radical story of intimacy that still resonates today. • The Soul Stealers by Chester S. Geier ~ Full Audiobook [horror]
    Oct 1 2025
The Soul Stealers by Chester S. Geier audiobook. Genre: horror Step into the chilling, old-world atmosphere of Chester S. Geier’s The Soul Stealers, a slow-burning supernatural tale that unspools like a midnight confession. When ordinary lives begin to fray—neighbors growing listless, treasured memories evaporating, and a small town’s laughter turning hollow—one determined soul follows the faintest traces to a lurking, inexplicable menace that feeds on what makes us human. Geier weaves razor-sharp suspense and uncanny imagery into prose that feels equal parts Gothic parable and pulp nightmare: eerie rituals and shadowed houses, whispered bargains and the moral cost of survival. Perfect for listeners who crave moody narration and gradual, mounting dread, the audiobook draws you into a world where every creak, pause, and silenced heart amplifies the terror. With its themes of identity, loss, and the hunger for power, The Soul Stealers keeps you leaning forward in the dark, waiting for the moment when the true price of a stolen soul is finally revealed. • Hours of Sorrow by Charlotte Elliott ~ Full Audiobook [religion]
    Sep 27 2025
Hours of Sorrow by Charlotte Elliott audiobook. Genre: religion Hours of Sorrow by Charlotte Elliott invites the listener into a gentle, deeply felt conversation about pain, faith, and consolation. Written by the Victorian hymn-writer whose moving lines include the beloved hymn “Just As I Am,” this collection of devotional poems and reflections transforms private grief into a public balm: quiet meditations, pastoral images, and hymn-like cadences that name despair honestly while pointing again and again to trust, forgiveness, and spiritual steadiness. As an audiobook, Hours of Sorrow becomes a companion for restless nights and difficult days — a calm, compassionate voice that guides the listener through stages of sorrow, prayer, self-examination, and ultimate hope. Elliott’s language is simple but keenly observant, theologically rooted yet emotionally transparent, making these short pieces ideally suited to being heard aloud: they pause, breathe, and let the listener feel heard. Whether you come seeking solace in loss, a renewed sense of devotion, or appreciation for Victorian devotional poetry, Hours of Sorrow offers warmth and reassurance — a quiet liturgy for anyone learning to live with longing and to find grace in the ordinary moments of trial. I've now listened to several of these 800+ (and growing) episodes/books, and sampled many more. They are read well, for the most part, and cover a broad range of topics, authors and time periods. There are both fiction and non-fiction, children's, YA and adult titles. I assume all are in the public domain, whether by lapsed or expired copyright. A number of the series' titles are otherwise unavailable for free through Audible, but the edition for sale on Audible will likely be a better reading or translation. I haven't checked, but some of the more obsure titles are likely not available at all. Some have attributions to Librivox, but a variety of sources seem to be drawn from. The biggest drawback, due to the podcast/episode structure of the collection, is that you can't search by title or author, only by upload date. You must load page after page until you find (or don't find) a title or author you're hoping is in the collection. But what do you want for FREE? There are both diamonds and lumps of coal in this mine. You just have to keep digging until you find your diamonds.
