(Title deliberately incorrect). The Green New Deal should be widely accepted based on the number of Americans who are, nearly 100 years after its implementation, supportive of the Old New Deal. In pondering why the Green New Deal was not widely supported I came up with a few “reasons, the primary one being – no, not the conservative attacks on the idea – but the fact people don’t know what the Old New Deal actually was. Which is understandable; to know what the New Deal was, is to read between the cultural lines of what “New Deal” actually means as well as having a slight economic understanding of the 50 years prior to the Great Depression. Both would enable you to appreciate how expansive the New Deal was and why most people at the time knew the New Deal wasn’t just about a few programs, it was about remaking the system their lives depended on.

  • Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.00.0C. The GOP’s Civil War is less Civil War &More Hostile Takeover by the Dominant Strain of Conservative Republicanism Feeding this Institutional Breakdown

I owe the idea for this episode to Stuart Stevens. He has mentioned on many occasions the idea that the Dominant Conservative strain within the Republican party wasn’t the more optimistic Reagan-Bushian Compassionate Conservatism (whatever that is) but the more putrid Reagan-Trumpian Fasco-Conservatism. Both heavily rely on Corporations for their marching orders, along with superior marketing strategies (than those used by the democrats) to convince potential voters that their policies will primarily benefit their average lives and not the corporate lobbyists paying them. Paging Frank Luntz. This dominant strain began its hostile takeover several decades ago; officially I think it’ll tell you the takeover began in 1981 with Reagan’s election but I think we have to roll that year back at least one decade to the releasing of the Powell Memo which provided the first corporate playbook for taking the government from “We the People” and placing it under the control of “We the Aristocracy”. But that’s just my opinion. This episode unfolds this strain more significantly. Enjoy.

  • Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.17.00. Individualism, An Idea that Makes Little Sense, Yet it Persists in the American Mythology

At the heart of Western Civilizations Mythology of its Genesis and Growth is the idea of Individualism. This has always been a problem for me, mainly because “the individual” effect on its growth and in deed its genesis is only important at its administrative summit; and that is true only for the times when there had been upheaval in the power dynamics, outside this time period, it is not the King or Queen who is the most important cultural figure, but the people who follow the King’s or Queen’s orders and those who they rule over. I figured out along time ago that a Kingdom’s most important portion is the population the King has control over. Since we live beyond the Royal age though, I use this episode segment to delve into the absurdity of Imperialism being spread through the individualist concept – it doesn’t make sense, it has never made sense and the time has come when we underscore how insane of an idea this notion is. Enjoy.
