  • Evangelism Essentials: A Comprehensive Guide
    May 9 2025

The primary focus of this podcast episode is the significance of evangelism within the Christian faith, a topic that we explore through a series of thought-provoking questions and discussions. We delve into the essential role that evangelism plays in fulfilling the church's mission, emphasizing that it is not merely an option but a divine mandate. Throughout our discourse, we underscore the necessity of understanding the nature of sin and righteousness to effectively communicate the gospel message. Additionally, we examine various approaches to evangelism, highlighting the importance of both confrontational and conversational methods in reaching diverse audiences. Ultimately, our aim is to encourage believers to embody their faith actively, thus becoming vessels for sharing the transformative message of Christ.

    Takeaways:

    • The essence of evangelism lies in its fundamental role as the mission of the church, as articulated in Matthew 28:19-20, which commands believers to go forth and make disciples.
    • We must recognize that effective evangelism requires both a confrontational and conversational approach, as each situation presents unique challenges that necessitate discernment and sensitivity.
    • It is imperative that we distinguish between living a holy life as a reflection of faith and the notion that mere lifestyle evangelism suffices for sharing the gospel; verbal proclamation is essential.
    • The concept of double predestination is often misunderstood; true Calvinism emphasizes God's sovereign choice in salvation, without equating it to fatalism or the Islamic view of predestination.

  • Breaking Free: Life After Mormonism and Embracing Christ
    May 9 2025

This episode of the Abundant Life podcast delves into the profound journey of Cody Bentley, a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) who has transitioned to a born-again Christian. The discussion, guided by hosts Saso and Ben, emphasizes the contrast between the doctrines of Mormonism and traditional Christianity, particularly focusing on the notion of grace. Cody recounts his upbringing within the LDS faith, highlighting a performance-based relationship with God that left him feeling spiritually malnourished. He shares his struggles with addiction and the burdens of guilt that permeated his life as he sought fulfillment through works rather than faith. The podcast explores the pivotal moment when Cody discovered the freedom and assurance found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, which allowed him to break free from the cycles of shame and guilt that had characterized his previous religious experience. Through heartfelt dialogue, the hosts and Cody reflect on the transformative power of grace and the importance of a genuine connection with Jesus, contrasting it with the institutional emphasis found in the LDS Church.

The episode presents a candid exploration of Cody's spiritual metamorphosis, detailing how he transitioned from a life steeped in the doctrines of Mormonism to embracing the teachings of Christianity. Central to this transformation is the realization that salvation is not contingent upon human efforts but is a gift of grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. Cody articulates the stark differences in his understanding of God, moving from a performance-driven faith to one marked by unconditional love and acceptance. The discussion touches on the challenges faced by those leaving the LDS Church, where adherence to doctrines can lead to a fear of losing community and identity. Cody's journey serves as a beacon of hope for others who may find themselves questioning their faith and seeking a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with God. The hosts encourage listeners to reflect on their own beliefs and consider the liberating message of the Gospel, which offers assurance and peace through faith alone.

    Takeaways:

    • The journey from Mormonism to Christianity encompasses profound spiritual transformations and a discovery of grace that is no found in any other religion.
    • Key differences exist between the concepts of salvation in Mormonism and traditional Christianity, particularly regarding grace and works.
    • Post-Mormon life often entails navigating relationships with family and friends who remain within the LDS faith, presenting unique challenges.
    • Experiencing a genuine relationship with Jesus can lead to significant personal growth and healing, as evidenced by Cody's transformation.
    • The importance of scripture, particularly the Bible, is emphasized as a source of truth and assurance for believers transitioning from Mormonism.
    • Understanding the differences in the definitions of familiar terms in both faiths is crucial for meaningful dialogue and connection.

  • Why I Left Christianity - Rhett McLaughlin
    May 7 2025

I just finished watching part of Rhett McLaughlin’s “Why I Left Christianity” podcast—and honestly, it’s gut-wrenching. Not because it’s new or intellectually groundbreaking, but because it’s tragically familiar. These aren’t fresh ideas; they’re the same tired lies the enemy has been peddling for over 6,000 years.

Rhett uses polished language and philosophical gaslighting to try and justify his departure from the faith. But when you peel back the layers, it’s clear: he has committed moral suicide. He’s compromised his ethics and reshaped his beliefs to fit a lifestyle and worldview that no longer wants to be held accountable to the God of the Bible. He has crafted a god in his own image—one that soothes his conscience rather than convicts his soul.

As I watched, Romans 1:22 echoed loudly in my mind: “Claiming to be wise, they became fools.”

This is what happens when someone surrounds themselves with voices that do not revere the Word of God. Rhett was elevated to celebrity status, and somewhere along the way, compromise crept in. To preserve a public image and support immoral ideologies—especially around sexuality—he had to abandon a biblical worldview. And that’s exactly what he’s done.

Make no mistake: the devil despises humanity. All he needs is a moment of distraction to plant seeds of doubt that grow into deception.

My heart breaks for Rhett. I am praying that he repents, turns back to the true and living God—King Jesus—and returns to the holiness he was called to walk in. Eternity is no small matter. The time to speak truth and call people back to the authority of Scripture is now.

  • JUDGE NOT!! I What does the Bible Really Say About Judging Others?
    May 6 2025

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” — Matthew 7:1. One of the most quoted — and misunderstood — verses in the Bible. But does this mean we should never make judgments about right and wrong? Is all judgment condemned, or is there a deeper meaning behind Jesus' words?

In this video, we explore what the Bible really says about judging others. We’ll look at the context of key passages, examine what Jesus and Paul taught, and discover the difference between righteous discernment and hypocritical condemnation.

👉 What does it mean to “judge righteously”?

👉 When is judgment appropriate — and when is it not?

👉 How can we speak truth in love without becoming judgmental?

Join us as we clear up confusion, challenge assumptions, and uncover biblical wisdom on one of the most controversial topics in Christian life.
