  • Simple Ways to See the Hand of God in Daily Life
    Apr 10 2026

This week, I’m sharing some thoughts fresh from a talk I gave in sacrament meeting—and giving you a peek behind the curtain about what was on my mind as I wrote it. Ever wonder how we actually “find the Savior in everyday life”? It’s a question I was assigned to wrestle with, and it got me thinking: do we stumble into moments where we feel Christ’s presence, or do we have to search for Him intentionally? Together, we’ll explore not just the unexpected ways we might notice the divine, but how choosing to look shapes what we find.

I’ll walk you through a quirky (and maybe slightly ridiculous) experiment—what do unicorns, purple trucks, and hidden hearts have to do with recognizing God? More than you’d expect! Join me as I share a three-step invitation for making these small moments matter: remembering God loves us, practicing gratitude, and looking outward for someone else who needs to be noticed.

This episode is a simple pause to let you connect, reflect, and maybe even see the everyday with new eyes. As you listen, I hope you’ll find your own sweet nuggets of goodness, and maybe even an unexpected heart or two along the way.

  • The Spirit of Contention: Understanding Gospel Perspectives on Disagreement
    Apr 3 2026

This week, I’m not alone in the Chocolate Cake Bytes studio—Verlin from the Cultural Hall podcast joins me for a conversation that’s more lively (and maybe less wisecracking) than going solo. We take on a topic that gets thrown around a lot in church settings: is there really a difference between conflict and contention? And are we “of the devil” every time we disagree?

Verlin and I go deep into what the scriptures actually say—and what they don’t—about the spirit of contention and how sometimes, avoiding conflict isn’t as virtuous as we might think. Along the way, we laugh about sibling boxing matches, rebellious chili spice levels, and the perils of answering, “Does this make me look fat?” But the heart of the episode is a practical, gospel-centered look at how facing disagreements with honesty and kindness can help us grow—and how curating our lives and even our social media feeds toward goodness can help us avoid contention, not conflict.

If you’ve ever found yourself tiptoeing around hard conversations, or you’re wondering how to handle “porcupines” in your life, this episode is for you. Let’s learn how to resolve differences while keeping the sweet spirit the gospel offers.

  • Rethinking Repentance and Forgiveness During Holy Week
    Mar 27 2026

Easter is just around the corner, and this week I'm getting thoughtful about how we experience and understand Holy Week. Why are so many of us in the Church increasingly focused on Easter as a season, not just a one-day celebration? I share some personal reflections on what Easter means to me, and why this time of year draws my heart back to the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the gift of forgiveness.

But here’s the twist: Have we misunderstood how repentance and forgiveness work? I unpack the common belief that repentance is the "price" we pay for forgiveness—and why I think that’s totally missing the point. Inspired by insights from teaching BYU-Idaho Pathways students and reading Elder Andersen’s The Divine Gift of Forgiveness, I explore the idea that forgiveness isn’t something we earn. Instead, repentance becomes the way we turn our hearts toward God, not just a checklist to wipe the slate clean.

As you head into Holy Week, I invite you to rethink what it means to atone and be forgiven. It’s not about groveling or hoop-jumping—it’s about daily change, sincere turning, and becoming someone who loves the Savior more deeply.
