Chocolate Five Spice Brownie Cookies
Assembly
2 1/4 cups AP flour
2/3 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp Chinese five spice powder
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 12-ounce package milk chocolate chips
Action
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and Chinese five spice powder in a small bowl.
- Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips.
- Drop batter by well rounded tablespoon onto uncreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, until centers are just set. Remove from oven and let stand for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks for cooling. Yields about 2 dozen cookies.
