In this first part of the first episode of season 6, Louis-Philippe Savard discusses with Victoria MacBeath and Sidonie Gaulin about craft, care, speech, and what it means in their research to attend to these concepts. This discussion will be followed by a second section, in which the guests discuss their path within academia and what is behind their work as emerging scholars.

Dans cette première partie du premier épisode de la saison 6, Louis-Philippe Savard s'entretient avec Victoria MacBeath et Sidonie Gaulin sur l'artisanat, le soin, la parole et de la façon dont elles en traitent dans leurs recherches. Sidonie Gaulin (she/her) is pursuing her master’s in art history at Concordia University under the supervision of Dr. Joana Joachim. Her research interests include feminist oral histories, gender dynamics in the contemporary art milieu, and the politics of speech and listening. Since 2021, she is behind the feminist art podcast Les Impostures and works in parallel on other sound documentary projects.

Victoria MacBeath (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the department of art history at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Her SSHRC funded research sits at the intersection of care ethics and craft making practices. Her research interests include Atlantic Canadian history, material culture, feminist studies, rural studies, and care ethics.
