Canes President and General Manager Don Waddell resigned his position on Friday. The team named Eric Tulsky as the interim General Manager. The move by Waddell comes at a difficult time for the Hurricanes with 11 free agents and other decisions that need to be made before the draft which is one month away. Canes can't hold 3-1, 3rd period lead and the run ends with a 5-3 loss in Game 6. Martin Necas, Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho each scored as the Hurricanes built a 3-1 lead through 2 periods. But, Frederik Andersen allowed a terrible goal to Chris Kreider early in the 3rd period and the floodgates opened. Kreider netted two more, completing the natural hat trick in a span of 8:58 of the third. Vincent Trochek and Barclay Goodrow also scored for New York who ended the series with Carolina at PNC Arena for the second time in 3 years.
