It's hard to imagine how Sheffield United's American owners, COH Sports, could further damage their reputation amongst Blades fans. But they have done just that. This week it was repsorted United's owners have shown interrest in buying stricken neighbours Sheffield Wednesday. It was even suggested that there has been talk of merging the two clubs. COH Sports issued a statement confirming their ambition for United. But nowhere was there a denial of interest in Wednesday or of merger suggestions. The Americans were already hugely unpopular following disastrous decision making only a few months into their reign. Having transformed United from a top Championship club to one that for months has been anchored at the bottom of the table, their standing was as low as it can get with fans. Sacking manager Chris Wilder and then reappointing him 89 days later to acknowledge their horrendous errors, as well as overseeing a chaotic summer transfer window, left them with no credibility. .Now they have somehow managed to make it worse in a text book How Not To PR disaster..
