  • 304-Myth #17: To Be Legit, I Need a Big Launch, Fancy Website, or Proven Program
    May 8 2025

START SMALL, SERVE WELL- The belief that you need a big launch or perfectly packaged offer before you can begin coaching or be legit in the industry will HOLD YOU BACK. If you've ever felt stuck because your website isn’t done or your program isn’t built out, this is your permission slip to begin anyway. Your story, your voice, and your willingness are more than enough to serve one person well- and that’s how a meaningful coaching business truly starts.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    1. You don’t need a fancy launch or full program to begin coaching—start by serving one person.
    2. Big doesn’t mean better; clarity and momentum come through action.
    3. Trust and impact are built through presence, not polish.

    LISTENER CHALLENGE

Take one small, visible step today that says, “I’ve started.”

This could be offering a free session to someone you trust, posting a simple invitation on social media, texting a friend and saying, “I’m opening up coaching spots,” or writing your story in a way that invites others in.

Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait until it’s perfect.

Let action lead the way — and let faith carry the rest.

  • 303-Myth 16: I Don't Want to Say I’m a Coach Until My Message and Process are Perfected
    May 1 2025

CLARITY COMES FROM ACTION- Not from waiting and thinking and perfecting. So if you’ve ever hesitated to call yourself a coach until your message was crystal clear and your process was perfectly mapped out, this episode is for you. We’re breaking the myth that you have to have it all figured out before you can begin.

Your clarity grows as you go : not before you start.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. You don’t need a perfect message or framework to start coaching- coaching begins with real conversations, not a branded process.
    2. Clarity is a result of courageous action, not a requirement before it.
    3. Your process and your voice will mature as you coach, not before- give yourself permission to grow publicly.

Listener Challenge: Announce your coaching services to your spheres of influence, even (especially) if you feel unprepared.

    1. Offer a discovery call about coaching and/or one free session to someone who needs help.
    2. Draft a simple, informal email to a friend or colleague explaining what you do and how you can help.
    3. Reflect: What did you learn? What surprised you? How did taking action make you feel?

  • 302-Myth #15: I Should Always Be ‘On' and Available for Every Client
    Apr 24 2025

HEALTHY BOUNDARIES HELP EVERYONE- What if the very thing you’re avoiding - boundaries - is actually the thing that would make you a better coach? In this episode, we’re talking about why boundaries matter, how to set them, and what happens when you don’t. If you’ve ever felt like being accessible all the time is part of your “value,” let’s untangle that myth right now. Your sanity, your sleep, and your clients will thank you.

    3 Key Takeaways:

    1. Being overly available to clients often leads to burnout, not better results.
    2. Boundaries don’t repel clients - they actually attract the right ones and model emotional health.
    3. You can serve with more joy and clarity when your time and energy are protected.

    Listener Challenge:

Decide on your official availability (even just messaging hours or session blocks) and communicate them to current or future clients. Post it where they’ll see it. You’re allowed to protect your peace.

  • 301-Myth #14: Free Coaching Will Lead to Paying Clients
    Apr 17 2025

VALUE HAS A COST- While free stuff can open some doors, it can also quietly devalue your work and train people to expect transformation without commitment. I'll explain in this episode how you can offer free value and when, teach you how to create a big-hearted entrepreneur benevolence plan, and inspire you to grow your business with integrity and clarity in a way that supports your calling and blesses others.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Free isn’t always valuable — People often don’t commit to what they get for free. Without investment, there’s usually little transformation or follow-through.
    2. Your time is a premium offering — You don’t need to give away sessions to prove your value. Share insights in scalable ways like guides, webinars, or content.
    3. Use free strategically, not excessively — Limit discovery calls and use them as previews, not full coaching sessions. Let your funnel lead to paid commitment, not endless free offers.

Listener Challenge: Instead of offering free sessions, create a piece of free content that shows your value and leads to a paid offer. It could be a short guide, a mini course, a webinar invite, or a checklist. Post it and promote it—and watch how people engage when they’re offered direction instead of a freebie.

Write your own 3-sentence response for when someone asks for free coaching. Then write a short note to yourself for the moments you’re tempted to give it all away.

  • 300-Myth #13: Creating Boundaries Now Will Help Me Protect Myself Later
    Apr 10 2025

BOUNDARIES BUILT ON FEAR FAIL- In this episode of the Christian Life Coach Collective, we tackle the common belief that setting up strict boundaries before you even begin coaching will protect you from burnout, harm, or difficult clients. While boundaries are essential, many new coaches set limits based on fear—not experience or calling.

You’ll learn how to discern between protective wisdom and projected fear, and how to build boundaries that serve your purpose, not shrink it.

    3 Key Takeaways:

    1. Fear-based boundaries can keep you from stepping into what God is calling you to do.
    2. Real boundaries are built through experience, not assumptions.
    3. Healthy boundaries should grow from your values and purpose—not from projected “what ifs.”

    Listener Challenge:

Take inventory this week: Where have you set boundaries based on fear or imagined scenarios? Ask God to show you what needs to stay, what needs to shift, and what walls can come down so that you can lead and serve in freedom.

  • 299-Myth #12: Selling Is Selfish... and Coaching Is Supposed to Be Selfless
    Apr 3 2025

SELLING IS SERVING, NOT SELFISH- Many Christian coaches struggle with the idea of charging for their services, believing that helping others should be offered freely. In this episode, we bust the myth that selling your coaching is selfish and reframe it as an act of service. We talk about overcoming the guilt around sales, how to confidently offer your services, and why charging is essential for sustainable, life-changing impact.

    3 Key Takeaways:

    1. Selling your coaching is not selfish—it’s how you serve others sustainably.
    2. When you reframe sales as offering solutions, the fear and guilt start to fade.
    3. Charging for your services gives you the capacity to stay in your calling long-term.

    Listener Challenge:

Write your “solution statement” using this format: “I help [specific person] go from [struggle] to [outcome] by [your method].” Then, share it with someone or post it to social media to boldly own the value of what you offer.

  • 298-Myth #11- Doing It All Myself Will Save Money
    Mar 27 2025

DOING IT ALL ALONE ISN'T FRUITFUL- It's easy to believe that doing everything yourself is the best way to save money when starting or growing your coaching business. It might feel like a smart move to DIY your website, social media, and bookkeeping, but the truth is, trying to handle it all can cost you more in the long run: more time, more stress, and even lost income. You’ll hear how doing too much affected my own coaching journey, and why focusing on your strengths while outsourcing the rest is actually the smartest investment you can make.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Your time is your most valuable asset—spending it outside your zone of genius drains energy and delays growth.

    2. Outsourcing isn’t just an expense—it’s a strategic investment that helps you serve more clients and make more money.

    3. In the early stages of your business, fancy tools and branding aren’t necessary—what you really need is paying clients and real experience.

Listener Challenge: Grab a pen and paper. List out three tasks you’re currently doing that could be delegated or outsourced. Think about what’s draining your time and energy—maybe it’s admin work, designing graphics, or managing your inbox. Now, take one step toward getting help with at least one of them this week—whether that’s asking for a referral, checking out Fiverr, or posting in a coaching group for support.

  • 297-Myth #10: If I'm a Great Coach, Clients Will Automatically Find Me
    Mar 20 2025

MARKETING IS A MUST- Busting a major myth in the coaching industry: "If I'm a great coach, clients will automatically find me." Many new coaches believe that being skilled is enough, but running a coaching business means understanding marketing, visibility, and outreach. In this episode, we’ll break down why coaching is different from a coaching business, why marketing is not a dirty word, and practical steps to attract the right clients. If you’ve been waiting for clients to show up without putting yourself out there, this episode will be the wake-up call you need.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Marketing is not manipulative—it’s simply sharing how you help people. If people don’t know what you do, how can they choose to work with you?
    2. Being a great coach doesn’t guarantee clients. Businesses require marketing, networking, and visibility to attract and retain customers.
    3. You must decide what kind of coaching career you want. Do you want to work for someone else or build a business that allows you to work for yourself?

    Listener Challenge: Take action today!

    1. Write down three ways you can intentionally market yourself this week- whether it’s posting valuable content, reaching out to potential clients, asking for referrals, or networking with others.
    2. Identify one platform where you can experiment consistently sharing your expertise (blog, podcast, YouTube, social media, or speaking engagements).
    3. Say out loud: "I’m a life coach, and I help people." Then, tell at least one person what you do and how you can help them.
