Shitzprobe: Bringing Fully Improvised Broadway-Style Musicals to Florida and Beyond

Host Mike Roth opens Season 8 of Villages Vitality: Senior Life Unscripted and interviews Brooklyn-based musical improv performers Kiki Mikkelsen and Adrien Pellerin of Shitzprobe (touring as “The Improvised Broadway Musical”). They discuss their backgrounds, how the show was created to be a fully improvised musical rather than improv with songs, and the origin of the name as a play on the theater term “sitzprobe.” Mike recounts discovering them at an improv festival and notes their canceled Villages appearances, discussing promotion and ticketing, and suggests the Orange Blossom Opry as a venue. The guests describe their Sarasota run at Florida Studio Theatre (audience-suggested titles, improvised characters, plot, songs, lyrics, and dance), typical cast and band setup, long-term goals for off-Broadway/Broadway or West End, and how to follow/support them via shitzprobe.com, social media, and Patreon, plus Florida workshops April 21–23 ahead of shows April 24–25.
