After a rough OT loss to the Utah Mammoth, the New York Rangers were struck with awful news- they will be without their star goalie Igor Shesterkin for a period of time, and arguably worse news, Adam Fox will be back on LTIR after recently getting him back into the lineup. It's tough to say which injury will do the team in the most, but considering how well Quick has played, and the tenacity he has brought in the games he's played, there is nobody on the team quite like Adam Fox. The power-play was starting to show hopes since his return, going 5 for 8 in the small sample size of games with number 23 back in the lineup, but this stretch of games will truly magnify what moves General Manager Chris Drury attempts as the team nears the trade deadline.

With the NHL season officially at the 50% mark for the New York Rangers, they find themselves in a difficult spot for the future, with the next steps ahead very unclear. In a dramatic comeback win, the Rangers never seem to be boring. After trailing in the third period, the team rallied back with 5 goals for the first time in over 50 years, and have the third most 3rd period comeback victories in the league. They're quite fascinating, because this is the same team that dropped a lifeless effort to the Predators, and were able to beat on a team above them in the standings with a flurry of offense after a low shot total for two straight periods. As the team sets into a short break before the Winter Classic, let's hope they can put the year of 2025 behind them and focus on a playoff berth with just a few points separating them from the top of the Metropolitan Division.

After gutting shutout losses to the bottom dwellers of the league in the Blackhawks and Canucks, with a non-competitive loss on home ice sprinkled in there at the hands of the Ducks, the Rangers have quickly found themselves in hot water in the absence of Adam Fox.
