Breaking Reality with Hawaiian activist Andre Perez

Bringing it like only B-Role can this weeks Breaking Reality episode finds Beth and Sam are blessed to share a brief moment with the busy Hawaiian activist, Andre Perez. He talks about shutting down the US Militaries Red Hill Bulk Fuel Facility that has been contaminating the Oahu Island's fresh water supply. In this episode he highlights the power of nonviolent direct action to bring forth change.  Andre is the co-founder of Hanakēhau Learning Farm and the Hawaiʻi Unity and Liberation Institute (HULI). He was an organizer for the Maunakea occupation and is the Project Director for Hui Kālai Kiʻi o Kūpāʻaikeʻe, a traditional carving apprenticeship. Through planned activism, cultural practices and education, Andre empowers his community towards Hawaiian Self-Determination and sovereignty.
