So, I feel into a pretty deep archeological internet hole the other day around 2 am and this is what I came up with:

Today's episode of Occulture Shock goes deep into one of the strangest gaps in ancient Egyptian history: the disappearance of the Benben stone.

This artifact was once the most sacred physical object in ancient Egypt

And then it vanishes. Just POOF! There one minute, gone the next.

In this episode, we break down what the Benben likely was, how it Egyptian construction and design for thousands of years, and why its influence shows up everywhere in Egyptian architecture.
