Bitcoin Surges, Altcoins Rally, Leveraged Bets Wiped Out

Gold and silver also gained, while Nasdaq futures and the dollar index weakened. Despite bitcoins pullback, privacy coins like Monero and Zcash rose, with Monero hitting a record high of $576. Over $200 million in leveraged futures bets were wiped out, mostly bullish ones, as traders were caught off guard.
