Friend of the show and multi-hyphenate artist Rafael Casal returns just in time to celebrate the release of the inaugural The Bay List! He shares how they chose the top 10 scripts from over one thousand applicants, the significance of this project being done in the Bay, and why he's more inspired than ever to create.

Then we dive into his most recent work on FX's The Lowdown, some of our favorite shows, and our collective excitement over New York's new mayor, Zohran Mamdani.

Come See Me In The Good Light is a beautiful documentary that follows two poet lovers, Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley, as they explore their relationship, laughter and mortality after receiving news of Andrea's incurable diagnosis. We were joined by director (and return guest) Ryan White and producer/star of the film Megan Falley to discuss the lasting impact of this film, the beauty in grieving out loud, and life lessons learned both in front of and behind the camera.

Lesbian Space Princess is an animated film about a space princess who is thrust out of her sheltered life into a galactic quest to save her bounty hunter ex-girlfriend from the Straight White Maliens. Co-directors/co-writers Emma Hough Hobbs and (return guest) Leela Varghese join us to laugh about their spectacular lesbian pun making abilities, their thoughts on whether scrapbooks are a good gift for a significant other, and their continued work with the talented Shabana Azeez.

    Oct 24 2025

    Send us a text

We were so excited to chat with return guest Shabana Azeez about one of our favorite shows of the year, The Pitt! We talk activism, mental health, and how she had to study up on American culture (she's originally from Adelaide, Australia). Then we dive into whether Noah Wiley is hot (spoiler: he is), how she accidentally went viral on social media, and which actor made her fall to her knees when she met them.

Listen to our first interview with Shabana for the film Birdeater

Listen to our second interview with Shabana for the short film I'm the Most Racist Person I Know

  • Are We Good? Producer Julie Seabaugh
    Oct 3 2025

    Send us a text

Sometimes we interview people and become friends at first Zoom! Julie Seabaugh is the producer/story editor behind the new Marc Maron documentary "Are We Good?", chronicling the iconic comedian and podcasters' struggle with grief and return to comedy after the sudden loss of his partner during the pandemic. After waxing poetic about Bridget Everett's boobs, we discuss how she gained Marc Maron's trust to make this documentary, her first (and last) attempt at stand-up comedy, an instrumental night more than 20 years ago with Dave Attell and too much Jager that caused her to fall in love with comedy, and the genius of Janeane Garofalo.
