  • Billikens Go 2-0 on the Road-trip, Beat La Salle in Philly | Billikens Central Postgame
    Jan 11 2026
The Saint Louis Billikens kept their red-hot season rolling with an 84–72 road win over La Salle, completing a strong 2–0 road trip and improving to 15–1 on the year After a sluggish and disjointed start, SLU leaned on its elite defense to stay steady before flipping the game with a massive late first-half run. A 15–2 closing stretch before halftime — including a crucial 10–0 spurt — turned a tight game into a 20-point cushion and proved to be the difference. The Billikens showcased their depth and versatility, once again demonstrating their ability to overwhelm teams in short bursts that few in the A-10 can match. Robby Avila led the way with a dominant all-around performance, posting 18 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks while shooting 7-of-10 from the floor. Brady Dunlap continued his torrid shooting stretch, pouring in 17 points and hitting four triples, marking his fifth double-figure scoring game in the last six contests. Amari McCautry was everywhere defensively and added 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists in one of his most complete performances of the season. The Billikens’ defense once again set the tone, holding La Salle to just two made three-pointers and forcing difficult shots all night. A highlight moment came from Kellen Thames, whose hustle play — saving a loose ball between his legs and turning it into points — perfectly embodied SLU’s energy and intensity. Despite some looseness and foul trouble in the second half, SLU never let the game slip away, cruising to another comfortable conference win. Now sitting at 15–1 and climbing toward the national rankings, the Billikens continue to look like one of the most dangerous teams in the A-10 as they return home riding serious momentum.
