The model shows us our own unique combination of communication or leadership style, and how other people see us. This brings awareness of how we are showing up in the world and how we related to others. In addition, it provides a way to understand other people and suggestions for adjusting our language so that others understand us better. Priceless!
The simplest way to understand a person's primary communication style is to ask 2 questions:
- Are they more Active or Reserved?
- Are they more People-Oriented or Task-Oriented?
- D Style is more Active and Task-Oriented
- I Style is more Active and People-Oriented
- S Style is more Reserved and People-Oriented
- C Style is more Reserved and Task-Oriented
