Beethoven's Repentance Op 131

Was Beethoven a Christian or not really? I was trying to find the clues from his later piece of art. While there are many controversials around his whole life, I wasn't stopped by those controversials. Instead, i tried pulling up all details from his- String Quartet in C-sharp minor, Op. 131, started listening to it whole heartly - so i could hear something different, something unique, and something about his own repentance.
