  • Beautiful Places: Neil Humphreys follows Shakespeare and Tom Cruise into the Anchor Inn
    Jan 11 2026

Author Neil Humphreys follows in the footsteps of William Shakespeare, Samuel Pepys and Tom Cruise as all four have now visited the iconic London pub - The Anchor Inn - on the South Bank of the River Thames. Neil gives co-host Glenn van Zutphen a glimpse into the storied past of a pub that first opened its doors in 1616. The pub served pirates, smugglers and provided diarist Samuel Pepys with the ideal view to witness the Great Fire of London of 1666. Pepys famously recorded what he saw through the pub window. Oh, and Tom Cruise raised a glass to another successful Mission Impossible movie at the same pub.

    Aug 31 2024

He dragged his family to the starting point at Kranji at 7am and convinced them that they could reach Tanjong Pagar without killing each other. Together, they battled storms, wayward cyclists and elderly selfie groupies to reach the finish line... or did they?

  • Beautiful Places: Neil Humphreys gets jailed Down Under (and loves it)
    May 4 2024

Co-host and author Neil Humphreys discuss his recent trip to Western Australia, where he savoured a change of pace, weather, and scenery. The place was slower, greener, cooler and a welcome escape from city life. As he tells co-host Glenn van Zutphen, Neil went underground at the Mammoth Caves, underwater at the Busselton Jetty, and behind closed doors at Fremantle Prison. He sleeps in a jail cell and explains why he can't wait to do it again.
