In 2007, the creative team of J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada had children's pull-ups character Spider-Man sell his marriage to the Satan Mephisto in exchange for the life of his dear Aunt May, an octogenarian who lived a full life that was marred near its end by nearly weekly health issues and who was assumed dead at the start of Straczynski's run.

Much like me with my own parent's divorce, losers who like comics have NEVER gotten over it.
