    It's good fodder for conservative and conspiratorial podcasters and talking heads to discuss recent revelations about one of Jeffrey Epstein's security guards. It's fine that James Comer wants to interview her. But at the end of the day, this is just another distraction from the real fruits that we can pick from the Epstein files. We need to go after those we can hold accountable at the top, not focus on pawns that are currently meaningless.

    House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer revealed Tuesday that the panel intends to interview one of Jeffery Epstein’s prison guards – after The Post reported she googled the disgraced financier shortly before he took his own life.

    Comer told Fox News host Jesse Watters that the committee will ask former Metropolitan Correctional Center guard Tova Noel to answer questions posed by the committee, but the Republican congressman noted that she hasn’t been accused of any wrongdoing.

    Consciousness is in the eye of the perceiver. It can be assumed that Artificial Intelligence will be able to mimic consciousness in ways that will fool most humans in the very near future, but is that enough to classify it as fully conscious?

    If that were the only question, it would be easy to answer. But then there's the question that we've asked before about whether the demonic or otherwise supernatural can "possess" through technological or spiritual means the artificial intelligence models of the near future. Some would say they already have.

    On today's episode of Based Underground, JD Rucker dives into the question based on a comment by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. He said Claude is showing signs of "anxiety" and he's concerned it may already be on the road to consciousness.
