The Chicago Bulls finally made a move at the NBA trade deadline — but is this just the start?

In a three-team deal involving the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings, the Bulls acquire Dario Saric, a 2027 second-round pick (via Denver), and a 2029 second-round pick (least favorable of DET/MIL/NYK). Chicago waives Jevon Carter and sends out Emanu el Miller to complete the trade.

For the first time in a while, Artūras Karnisovas used cap flexibility to add draft capital as a third team — something Bulls fans haven’t seen much of.

Now the real question:

Is this the only move… or is this setting up something bigger?

With:

  • $89M in expiring contracts
  • A $17.5M trade exception
  • An additional $2M exception
  • Multiple movable second-round picks
  • Potentially two first-rounders this summer

Chicago suddenly has flexibility.

We break down:

  • Why this trade matters long-term
  • Whether Coby White is still the most likely Bull to be moved
  • Ayo Dosunmu’s growing case to stay
  • Trade targets like Yves Missi, Jeremy Sochan, and Day’Ron Sharpe
  • Whether AK sells, buys… or splits the difference

The trade deadline countdown is ON.
