Welcome to episode 3 of Bede & Steve Vs. Leatherface, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the films of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
After Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was released in 1986 to both a mixed reception and poor box office, The Cannon Group decided to sell the rights to the series. Now that their A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise was wrapping up, New Line Cinema picked up the rights in hopes of making TCM the studio's next big horror franchise. Unfortunately, the resulting film suffered from behind-the-scenes troubles, recut to ribbons and faired even worse critically/commercially: the 1990 sequel Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III from director Jeff Burr (From A Whisper To A Scream, The Stepfather II) and writer David J. Schow (Critters 3 & 4, The Crow '94)
Joining the hosts Bede & Steve to discuss this third entry in the franchise are first-time guests critic/podcaster Lindsay WiIkins (Schlock & Awe) and playwright/co-owner of The Knack Theatre Lourdes Zamanillo, who is also Steve's wife.
