[Note: Originally published September 2025] In this bonus episode, we are diving into all the cycle-breaking themes and mental health lessons from the record-breaking summer blockbuster – K-Pop Demon Hunters! We know there have been lots of breakdowns and analyses of the movie, but as Asian American moms and women who have passion in working with mental health, we really wanted to nerd out over what we gleaned from this movie. (And if you know how hard we nerd out over mental health stuff, we think you'll like this episode. 😉)
Jasmine shares how she got Netflix just to watch the movie (after an 8 year hiatus!) and what her daughter surprisingly picked up from the movie. We also talk about how to talk about how to bring up some of these things to younger kids. Peggy talks about some lessons she has gone over with her clients and actually how some of the themes are pertinent to perinatal mental health disorders! Join us for an AAPI-mom analysis of the movie in the lens of parenting and perinatal mental health!
***Please be aware that if you haven't watched the movie, there will be spoilers on what happens in the movie.***
