Hi, I’m Sarah Wall, a mom of two grown kids and a Jesus-loving wife. I know how it feels to juggle a career, marriage, kids, and a major life crisis, while trying to live a balanced life as a Christian woman. For twenty-plus years, the distractions of the world took over and kept my faith on the back burner…until some wake-up calls jolted me out of my slumber. For the first time in my life, these trials were bigger than all the rest and too big to face alone.

I questioned why God was allowing this to happen, worried instead of praying, and didn’t spend enough time with the Lord because I was too busy dealing with problems! I felt pulled in so many directions, scattered and distracted, and couldn’t find the words to pray. I tried all the problem solving strategies that I knew of. I went to church and said short prayers each night ….and then I cried and crashed and broke. Feeling disillusioned and defeated, I posted desperate requests for prayer on social media and crossed my fingers that some strangers would pray for me…

And that’s when the Holy Spirit woke me up. I finally realized that I needed to learn how to pray effectively. I wanted to know if prayer could really help me get through this tough season… and the next. I needed to turn off the distractions and spend more time in Scripture to understand how to apply the Bible to my life. If I was going to trust God and His timing, I had to quiet the noise and make time to listen to God’s voice. I needed to get more serious about growing deeper in my walk with Jesus. Much more serious….but I didn’t know where or how to start.

Then God opened my eyes, and I traded my pajamas for a suit of spiritual armor. I developed a plan that works for me. Simple prayer disciplines and bible devotion habits that deepened my trust in God, practices that I could actually stick with. A lifestyle that ignited my spiritual growth and snoozed the noise so I could tune into God’s presence consistently. What I learned changed my life forever, and I’m excited to share it all with you!

The Awakened Christian Woman podcast has a simple mission to help you grow spiritually by:

  • Deepening your trust in the Lord and His timing
  • Empowering you to pray effectively, and
  • Helping you apply God’s Word to your life
