  • S4E2 - From Farms to Pharaohs
    Jul 24 2025

What do James Clear, Jared Diamond, Cleopatra, and Patrick Swayze’s ghost have in common? Apparently, the Agricultural Revolution.

In this episode, I, Eric Lampaert, dive balls-deep into humanity’s leap from chasing chickens and eating mystery berries to planting seeds, building cities, and discovering pottery – the ancient equivalent of Tupperware. Guided by Civilization VI (yes, the video game), we’ll explore how farming and food surplus transformed scattered tribes into booming civilisations, birthed new roles from farmers to shamans, and, somehow, led to wet t-shirt contests.

This is history, chaos, comedy, and curiosity blended into one, with quotes from authors, scholars, and the occasional ghostly crooner.

Time to till the soil, fire up the kiln, and see how humans went from farms… to Pharaohs.

  • S4E1 - The Birth Of We The People
    Jun 21 2025

The world feels stranger every day; and if you’re sensing it too, you’re not alone. In this introductory episode to my Civilisation Crash Course, I explore how we were born in order to move towards some bigger questions: what does free will mean when algorithms shape our beliefs and moods? How do we navigate an increasingly authoritarian world without losing ourselves?

We’ll wrestle with questions of power, tolerance, identity, and what it means to be human in a world that demands we update ourselves like machines.

Featuring reflections on history, philosophy, and the cosmic perspective of Carl Sagan, this episode kicks off the Civilization Crash Course, a series about understanding humanity’s past to better grasp our future.

Tune in for truth, tangents, and maybe even some hope.

  • S3E4 - Catching The Eastbound
    May 18 2025

This episode ends a long journey of shedding one's old skin to emerge anew as something else, using the notebooks that were written along the way to piece together parts of a puzzle, collecting fresh and ancient wisdom to survive our unpredictable and strange world. I hope you enjoy the recollection of this adventure as much as I have, thank you for accompanying me, and till next time.

In the meantime, a new podcast, Inside The Gallop, distracting myself from black holes and philosophy and learning about horse racing, wanna hop on that saddle with me?

More seeking answers in journals, sifting through some off my favourite bits so I may throw the notebooks to the actual funeral pyre.

  • S3E1 - The Notebooks: Sarcophaguses Of Souvenirs
    Apr 27 2025
Letting go can be difficult, but is a necessary part of our evolution so that we may make room for the new. And that is exactly what I am doing with my old journals; items I would love to keep, but that may be weighing me down as I attempt to be lighter.

  • Clowns To The Left, Jokers To The Right
    Apr 1 2025

    It’s April Fool’s Day.

How do we continue finding joy and laughter when faced with overwhelming injustice? What role does comedy play in a world that feels increasingly unbearable?

A podcast? A rant? A hypnotic deep dive into the illusion of choice? Corporations own everything, social media mines your soul, and entertainment keeps you docile, but don’t worry, it’s all just a joke… right?

Monopolies, surveillance capitalism, consumerism, and media distraction with a satirical edge. Are you in control, or are you just another cog in the machine? Haemonomics, baby.

🎭 Watch, question, laugh — just don’t think too hard. It’s April Fool’s Day, after all.

  • When Mythology Meets Modernity
    Jan 6 2025

In this season finale of Art of the Covenant, host Eric Lampaert reflects on the journey of rediscovery, healing, and transformation. Drawing from ancient myths, sacred texts, and personal experience, he explores how universal truths and timeless stories can help us align the microcosm of our lives with the cosmos itself.

Through the lens of his own recovery from trauma and memory loss, Eric shares insights that helped him rebuild and reshape his mind, body, and spirit. From grappling with the infinite to embracing the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, this episode weaves humor, philosophy, and resilience into a tapestry of growth and hope. A celebration of endings, beginnings, and the messy, beautiful middle ground where we all live.
