For centuries, ships and planes have vanished at sea, leaving behind no wreckage, no bodies, and no clear answers. Over time, those disappearances stopped being treated as tragic accidents and started becoming something else entirely.

In this episode of Anthology of Horror, Spring Heeled Jack takes a deep dive into the Bermuda Triangle—from humanity’s earliest relationship with the ocean, to ghost ships, famous vanishings like Flight 19 and the USS Cyclops, and the long list of theories that followed. Ancient civilizations, aliens, time distortions, cryptids, magnetic anomalies—everything gets examined.

But this isn’t the TV-special version of the story.

This episode breaks down how and why the Bermuda Triangle myth was created, how real events were reshaped over time, and why busy shipping routes, weather systems, ocean currents, human decision-making, and simple math explain far more than any supernatural force ever could.

Along the way, Spring Heeled Jack offers his own theory—one that may take the wind out of a few sails, but still leaves the ocean just as dangerous, indifferent, and fascinating as it’s always been.

Today’s holiday special is a long-form, winter-drenched marathon of storytelling, packed tight with new music, guest voices, and enough raffles to make Santa question his business model. This episode features a full slate of eerie tales pulled from the stranger corners of Reddit, shaped and sharpened under the pen of Mickie Eberz, whose script turns online folklore into something far colder and far more immersive. In studio, guest host Sam Stoutman returns to lend his steady presence to the chaos, joining main host Spring Heeled Jack for an episode that feels equal parts festive and unsettling—the perfect seasonal blend for listeners who prefer their Christmas lights flickering for reasons nobody can explain. Empress provides a suite of new holiday-adjacent tracks throughout the night, a mix of shimmering instrumentals and atmospheric pieces that set the tone for the stories ahead. The evening closes with their original song “Stuff My Stocking,” a decidedly unwholesome capstone to an already unpredictable special. With new stories, new music, and unexpected twists, this holiday episode stands as one of the most ambitious productions of the season.

I'm convinced that nobody reads these summaries except for the Spotify AI pre screening bots. Spotify sucks ass. It's a dog shit platform, and I hope it fails. Slobber upon it you ghouls.

Tonight, Anthology of Horror resurrects one of America’s most enduring ghost stories — The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Originally written by Washington Irving, this timeless tale of superstition, ambition, and fear has been adapted and rewritten by Spring Heeled Jack for modern audiences.

Set in the mist-shrouded valley of Sleepy Hollow, the story follows Ichabod Crane, an ambitious schoolmaster whose vanity and greed draw him into the heart of the Hollow’s oldest legend — the haunting of the Headless Horseman. Through fear and folly, Ichabod learns that some ghosts are born not from the grave, but from the darkness of the human heart.

Like the legend itself, this episode bridges the old and the new — weaving classical horror with modern sound design and original scoring to create an immersive, cinematic experience.

    Credits:

    • Original Story: Washington Irving
    • Adaptation & Rewrite: Spring Heeled Jack (Anthony Landis)
    • Produced by: Mickie Eberz
    • Partial Score by: Scott Wilson
    • Music by: Empress
    • Closing Songs: both traditional folk songs reimagined and revived for a modern age, much like the story of Sleepy Hollow itself.

It's great Duke explained his short absence. After using 'Anthology' as sonic wallpaper for nearly a year with multiple listens to each episode, a pause of a few months is noticeable. So I figured either a. EVERY podcast takes a yearly sabbatical and I'm a f**king idiot for not knowing that or b. I could email to at least put my most morbid and dire worries to rest. Then I got to think about people I haven't talked to for a few days send me messages asking 'are you dead ?' thinking it's funny and it isn't. So I never emailed or don't think I did.
Anyway Duke is back and even better than before. His sound is vastly improved and, entertaining though they were, his show is now ad-free. So do what you want. I have six brand new 'Anthology Of Horror's to listen to. Since his podcast is the MST3K of online horror stupidity and so much more I suggest you do as well. If Duke knew how much that show was my comedy Rosetta stone it would tell how heartfelt and sincere that compliment is.

Welcome Back Jack !
