“Soul Connection” raises awareness on chaplaincy and explores the ministry of chaplains. The podcast asks questions on what chaplaincy is, what chaplains exactly do, and why we need chaplaincy. Episode 1 drops May 8. It features Linda Seligman, who is ordained in Zen Buddhist practice and is a chaplain resident at UNC Rex Hospital. Episode 2 features Rev. Renée Owen, who is the Endorser and Director of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling Ministries for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF). And Episode 3 features Rev. Dr. H. Mac Wallace, who is the Senior Professor of Pastoral Care at Campbell University Divinity School. This three-episode podcast includes interviews with experienced chaplains who share their wisdom and understanding. It is pitched for anyone who seeks to know more about the ministry of chaplains. Chaplains seek to provide a ministry of presence in confidential conversations through active listening, compassion, and empathy. They are not there to convert or judge; they are there in support, grounded in their own unique faith. The “Soul Connection” podcast was produced and hosted by Rev. Delaney Metcalf through an internship and collaboration with Good Faith Media. Music by Pond5. Learn more: GoodFaithMedia.org.
