  • The Webs We Keep Rebuilding | Anchor Points
    Mar 25 2026

Like a spider rebuilding its web, we often rely on our own effort to hold everything together.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin reflects on grace vs effort.

    1. Why we keep trying to “earn” enough
    2. How self-reliance falls apart
    3. What it means to stand on grace

    Scripture (NIV):

Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works.”

  • Are You Building Someone Else’s Life? | Anchor Points with Devin Almonte
    Mar 24 2026

Have you looked at LEGO sets lately?

Almost every one of them comes pre-loaded with someone else's story. Star Wars. Marvel. Minecraft. You're not really building anymore. You're just recreating what someone else already made and tells us to build.

I noticed it over Christmas and couldn’t find a simple set to build a simple town or store without a brand attached to it.

We do this too. Somewhere along the way we start attaching ourselves to labels and groups and someone else's ready-made story. Are you the crunchy mom or the career woman? The conservative Christian or the progressive one? And after a while those things start to feel like identity. Like that's just who we are. We build up a story that really isn’t who we are.

But First Samuel 16:7 says the Lord doesn't look at any of that. He looks at the heart.

God gives us the pieces. He even gives us a plan. But what gets built from those pieces is uniquely yours from the Lord. The story He's writing through you won't look exactly like anyone else's.

You're not meant to build someone else's set.

  • We Say We Want Feedback, But Do We Really? | Anchor Points with Devin Almonte
    Mar 23 2026

When was the last time someone told you something you didn’t want to hear?

And more importantly, how did you respond?

Suggestion boxes used to invite feedback, but today, we’re far less open to it.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin explores why we resist correction and why Scripture calls it valuable.

    1. Why we’ve grown uncomfortable with feedback
    2. How defensiveness holds us back
    3. Why honest friends are a gift

    Scripture (NIV):

Proverbs 27:6 – “Wounds from a friend can be trusted.”

  • You Might Be Following Too Many Voices | Anchor Points
    Mar 18 2026

    Who are you following?

And how many voices are shaping your life right now?

Social media has changed what it means to “follow.”

We follow hundreds of people—celebrities, influencers, experts—all speaking into how we should live. And without realizing it, it can start to feel like we’re being pulled in a hundred different directions.

But when Jesus said “follow me,” He meant something quite different.

    Scripture (NIV):

Luke 9:23 – “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

  • Waiting Isn’t Wasted Time. Here’s Why | Anchor Points
    Mar 17 2026

What are you waiting for right now?

And how are you at waiting?

Life can feel like one long waiting room.

We wait in traffic, in lines, for answers, for opportunities, for the next season to begin. And most of the time, we are trying to escape the waiting. Faster everything. Shorter lines. Less delay.

But no matter how efficient life becomes, waiting never goes away.

Because at its core, life is not just about passing time. It is about trusting God in the middle of it.

Psalm 130 gives us a different picture of waiting. Not anxious waiting. Not frustrated waiting. But expectant waiting.

Like watchmen on the wall waiting for morning.

They were not guessing if the sun would rise. They knew it was coming. They simply stood, watched, and waited with confidence.

That is the kind of waiting Scripture invites us into.

    Scripture (NIV):

Psalm 130:5–6 – “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.”

💬 Want to talk about it more?

What are you currently waiting on in your life?

And would you say you are waiting with frustration… or expectation?

Let’s talk about what it looks like to trust God in the waiting.

  • The 10-Second Reset That Can Change Your Entire Day | Anchor Points
    Mar 15 2026

What if the strength you need today only requires ten seconds?

We often think we need a long break, a full day off, or a quiet retreat to reset. But sometimes the reset we need is much smaller than that.

In this Anchor Point, Devin shares a moment from a tough gym workout where there were only ten seconds to rest between intense stations. Just ten seconds to breathe before moving again. Surprisingly, those tiny resets were enough to keep going.

And spiritually, the same rhythm can change our day.

Those brief pauses before walking into the house, before the next meeting, or before responding to someone can become sacred moments where we stop, breathe, and remember who God is.

    Scripture (NIV):

Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”

💬 Want to talk about it more?

Where in your day could you create a simple “ten-second reset”?

What might change if you paused in that moment and remembered God is in control?

Let’s talk about the power of small pauses and how they help us keep going.

  • The Target Checkout Meltdown | Anchor Points with Devin Almonte
    Mar 12 2026

Have you ever had one of those moments where everything that could go wrong… does?

    You pick the wrong line.

    The machine won’t work.

And suddenly everyone around you seems to be watching the chaos unfold.

But what if the bigger story in those moments isn’t frustration…it’s grace?

Sometimes things simply don’t work the way they’re supposed to. Some days feel backwards. But those are the exact moments where grace matters most.

    Scripture (NIV):

Colossians 3:13 – “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

💬 Want to talk about it more?

Have you ever had a public moment where everything went wrong at once?

What helped you keep perspective…or what do you wish you had done differently?

  • Are Some Prayers Too Small for God? | Anchor Points with Devin Almonte
    Mar 11 2026

Have you ever stopped yourself from praying because the request felt too small?

Like maybe it wasn’t important enough to bring to God?

Sometimes we think prayer is reserved for the big moments. The crises. The major decisions. The life-altering needs.

But what about the little things?

In this Anchor Point, Devin shares a few simple prayers. Things like hoping a child has someone to sit with at lunch. Asking for a close parking spot when time is tight. Even searching for a very specific Christmas gift for a four-year-old who asked for something unexpected. A pink rock.

They might sound small. Almost too small.

But Philippians 4:6 reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer. Not just the moments that feel spiritual or serious enough.

    Scripture (NIV):

Philippians 4:6 — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

💬 Want to talk about it more?

Have you ever hesitated to pray about something because it felt too small?

Or have you ever seen God show up in one of those little prayers?

Let’s talk about how even the smallest prayers can shape our faith.
