I can do all things
Through Him that strengthens me
I can do all things
Through Him in which I believe.
Trials are coming at us at full speed,
Trying to end what we built for greed,
Every day is a battle and we are so jaded,
But the Spirit says victory's ours as we made it.
Tribulations are lining up one by one,
Fighting to take us like all works are undone,
Each second feels like an eternity altogether,
But our souls tell us the Lord fills our call forever.
I can do all things
Through Him that strengthens me
I can do all things
Through Him in which I believe.
Trouble may come from every whichawhere
Only making favor hard to see right there;
Every time we do right by others in this life,
There’s a Messiah who heals us by His strife.
Temptations are arriving in different places,
Trying to deceive us of the power of graces;
Each moment we pray for strength to endure,
Strength is something the Lord just ensures.
I can do all things
Through Him that strengthens me
I can do all things
Through Him in which I believe.
1. The Anchor (The Refrain)
ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM uses the famous verse Philippians 4:13 ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me") as its structural backbone. By repeating this chorus, Official 1SP creates a "safe harbor" to return to after describing the chaos of the verses. It shifts the focus from human effort to divine empowerment.
2. The "Four Ts" of Conflict
The middle stanzas systematically address the external and internal pressures of life, all starting with the letter T:
Trials:
Fast-moving external challenges.
Tribulations:
The heavy, long-term weights that make "seconds feel like eternity."
Trouble:
The confusing, "every whichawhere" obstacles that cloud one's vision.
Temptations:
The deceptive lures that try to make a person forget their spiritual "graces."
3. The Contrast of Reality vs. Spirit
The Official 1SP uses a consistent "Problem/Solution" structure in each stanza:
The Problem:
Greed, being "jaded," feeling "undone," and the "strife" of life.
The Spiritual Response:
ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM counters these with "The Spirit," "the Soul," and "the Messiah." It suggests that while the physical world is exhausting, the spiritual world provides the endurance needed to survive it.
4. Style and Tone
Direct & Accessible:
The language is simple and conversational (using words like "whichawhere"), making it feel personal rather than academic.
Rhyme Scheme:
It mostly follows an AABB or ABCB pattern, which gives it a steady, marching beat. This rhythm mirrors the theme of "endurance"—it keeps moving forward despite the obstacles mentioned.
Overall Message:
ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM’s a poem about spiritual resilience. It doesn’t deny that life is a "battle" or that people get "jaded"; instead, it argues that the only way to remain "undone" is to rely on a power source outside of oneself.
