  • Ira Yarmolenko- Part 2: Framed by Your Own Cells
    Apr 20 2025

    Send us a text

Mark Carver spent eleven years in prison after being convicted of Ira Yarmolenko's murder based primarily on touch DNA evidence that was later proven unreliable and possibly contaminated. His case exposes the dangers of touch DNA in criminal proceedings, where innocent people can be convicted through primary, secondary, or tertiary DNA transfer that places their genetic material at crime scenes they never visited.

If Carver and Cassada didn't kill Ira, then who did?

  • Clara & David Harris-Part 2: Clara's Confessions
    May 29 2025

    Send us a text

After a little travel break, we conclude the Clara & David Harris case.

A Mercedes-Benz becomes a murder weapon in a Houston hotel parking lot when Clara Harris discovers her husband's affair. What drives someone to such an extreme act of violence? This riveting deep-dive explores how a seemingly perfect marriage between two successful dentists shattered in an instant of rage that left David Harris dead and Clara behind bars.

The story takes a particularly disturbing turn as we learn that David's teenage daughter Lindsay witnessed the entire incident from the passenger seat of the Mercedes. Her heartbreaking testimony—"I felt the bumps"—provides some of the most damning evidence against her stepmother. The episode carefully examines both the prosecution's case that this was premeditated murder and the defense's argument that Clara acted in a "sudden passion" without intent to kill.

Beyond the crime itself, we uncover the fascinating aftermath spanning two decades: the multiple civil lawsuits that bankrupted Clara, her transformation into a model prisoner who learned Braille to translate textbooks, and her eventual release after serving 15 years. Perhaps most touching is the revelation that her twin sons, only five when their mother went to prison, visited her faithfully every month for 15 years.

The case became such a cultural touchstone in Houston that "pulling a Clara Harris" entered the local lexicon as shorthand for catching a cheating spouse. But beneath this dark humor lies a profound tragedy that affected multiple families and reminds us how quickly a moment of unbridled emotion can permanently alter countless lives.

Have you ever wondered what happens to someone after they've committed a crime that shocked an entire city? Listen now to discover Clara's surprising post-prison life and the lessons this case teaches about forgiveness, redemption, and the devastating consequences of revenge.

  • Deadly First Date of Criminal Justice Student: Sade Robinson
    Jun 16 2025

    Send us a text

The murder of 19-year-old Sade Robinson stands as a stark warning about the dangers that can lurk behind dating profiles. When this ambitious Milwaukee criminal justice student went missing after a first date with Maxwell Anderson in April 2024, few could have imagined the horror that would unfold.

Despite taking nearly every precaution—meeting in public, sharing her location through tracking apps, sending updates to friends—Sade fell victim to a predator who had meticulously planned her murder. What makes this case particularly heartbreaking is that Sade missed just one crucial step that might have saved her life: she never ran a background check that would have revealed Anderson's extensive history of violence and domestic abuse.

As Sade's dismembered remains began appearing throughout Milwaukee, the community was gripped by fear of a possible serial killer. Yet it was Sade herself who would help solve her own murder through the digital breadcrumbs she left behind. Surveillance footage, location data, and phone records painted a damning timeline of Anderson's movements, including disposing of body parts at multiple locations and setting Sade's car ablaze.

The evidence recovered from Anderson's home—including a prepared basement with plastic tarping, deleted photos of Sade's body, and research on "what not to mix with bleach"—revealed a level of premeditation that shocked even seasoned investigators. A witness even testified that Anderson had shared his murder plans a month before carrying them out.

This episode explores not only the tragic details of Sade's murder but also the broader context of violence against women of color in Milwaukee, where Black women are 20 times more likely to be murdered than their white counterparts. Through her mother's advocacy work with Sade's Voice Foundation, this young woman's legacy continues in the fight for justice for all missing and murdered BIPOC women.

Remember that running background checks isn't paranoia—it could be the difference between life and death. Support the mission at SadesVoiceFoundation.com and share this critical safety information with anyone who dates online.
