Advent Retreat Day 2: Closeness to God

Hello Friend. Awakening of the Heart Advent Retreat. Our theme on day two is inviting intimacy and affection with God. Our reward is a more profound friendship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Let’s pray, Heavenly Father, on this second day of Advent, we come before you with hearts yearning for closeness with the God of all mystery.

Your Word in James 4:8 assures us that when we draw near to you, you will draw near to us.

We invite you into the depths of our souls, longing for that intimate connection that transforms our lives.

Help us to push aside distractions and open our hearts in prayer and worship, so we may fully experience your profound love and grace.

As we engage in this sacred relationship, we ask for a more profound revelation of your presence in our daily lives.

May we recognize your guiding hand in the mundane and the miraculous, discovering you in every moment.

Wrap us in your comforting embrace, reassuring us that we are never alone.

Teach us to approach you with childlike faith and confidence, knowing that you delight in our desire for connection.

As we journey through this new day, new week, and new month, may we deepen our relationship with you, Lord.

Let your love overflow in our hearts and be reflected in our actions towards others.

May we be vessels of your love as we draw closer to you.
