Adrian and Ali Shaheed Mohammad hit Manchester shortly after this as The Midnight Hour (I had the pleasure of warming up too) for an intimate gig at Yes, which turned into a big family hug spilling out onto the stairs after curfew.

I'd been a fan of Adrian for years and was super excited to speak to him, but phones are never as good as face to face. When I did meet Ali Shaheed and Adrian a few weeks later, I ended up (literally) running around Manchester with a stack of vinyl for them to sign, MsKoncept and Akse in tow... to no avail, or so I though 'til I spotted them coming out of the kebab shop.
