    The battle of the AI Goliaths continues. Last week OpenAI released their latest model, ChatGPT-5.2. With 1 billion users, it’s the largest and longest-running AI Large Language Model in the world.

    GPT‑5.2 started rolling out on 11 December 2025 to paid ChatGPT plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise) and is also live in the API for developers. Rollout is gradual, and GPT‑5.1 will remain available for a few months as a “legacy” option before being retired.

    Over time, OpenAI has stated that free‑tier users should also get some level of access, but with more limited usage.
