AAF D10 Webinar - Pushing Back on Ad Legislation

The AAF D10 Webinar discussed strategies to oppose ad tax legislation, using Nebraska's experience as a case study. Robert Richardson and Cassi Warren detailed how they formed a coalition with the Nebraska Broadcasters and Press Associations, ANA, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses to oppose a 7.5% ad tax. They emphasized the importance of early preparation, building relationships with legislators, and leveraging national resources. Despite initial success, a reduced 5.5% tax on digital advertising was still imposed on large companies. The speakers advised staying informed, building local networks, and using personalized communication to influence legislative decisions.
