Episode Description
In this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on World Cerebral Palsy Day and what it truly means to bring awareness to something that shapes your entire life. Awareness days are a starting point, but the real work is in the daily conversations, the stories, and the connection that happens when we talk openly about our lived experiences.
I share what it’s been like to grow up with CP, the range of experiences within the condition, and why no two stories are alike. I talk about how I’ve learned to own my story, from being self-conscious about my walk to showing it daily on video, and how I’ve chosen to stop using humor to hide pain. Living with CP has taught me perspective, resilience, and gratitude for independence, even while dealing with what’s likely chronic pain every day.
If you live with CP, or know someone who does, I hope this episode encourages you to share your story. Every day can be an awareness day, and your voice can help someone else see what’s possible.
Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.
