Meet Imari and Devon! Everyone and their da*n mama has a podcast tis' true, but theirs is better because they got themselves thousands of dollars in debt for a piece of paper that makes them smarter than you. #Educated After studying mass communication and Spanish at Texas State University, Imari sought out a career in media on-air for various format stations in Miami, FL and Austin, TX. Living amid the global pandemic and seeing how it affected so many traditional careers, she decided to leave radio and peruse an independent route in mass media. Although Imari took a step away from working for big media outlets, her longtime friend and podcast partner, Devon, is ready to get her foot in the door! From working locally as a bartender in Austin, when the economic climate changed so did her views on stability and purpose in life. Taking a bold step, Devon decided to attend school for journalism transitioning from hearing the stories of her customers and regulars to telling the stories of the local community. Different but similar walks of life, friendship, the laborious life of working service industry to survive and a nice glass of something cold while diving into tough subjects is what brought these two together.
