Naomi & Ruth are in Bethlehem, and they need food. Leviticus 19:9-10 commands property owners to leave a portion of the harvest so that the widow, orphan, and foreigner can provide for themselves. Ruth goes to harvest some barley and meets Boaz. Here is where the bitterness begins to turn to light.
