A Prayer for When We’re Not There Yet

Faithful God,

We would prefer to have it settled —

for ourselves

and for those we love.

We would prefer clarity.

An answer.

A way forward.

Guide us, step by step.

When progress feels slow,

keep us from despair.

When we have to turn around,

give us the humility to do so.

When we are moving,

steady us.

When we wonder if anything is happening at all,

remind us that growth is not always visible.

Form patience in us.

Form resilience in us.

Form courage in us.

Surround us with wise voices.

Anchor us in community.

Help us listen for Your steady leading.

And when the journey feels longer than we expected —

help us not to quit.

Amen.
