When you’re pitching yourself as a podcast guest, it’s not a question of whether you’ll be rejected but when.
While it’s no fun to be turned down, it’s even worse if you let a, “No, thanks,” from a podcast host or producer keep you from pursuing more opportunities.
Sam and Brigitte got together to normalize rejection as part of the podcast pitch process, as well as to give you a framework for understanding when you’ve gotten one decline too many and what to do about it.
Listen to learn:
- [02:49] Why no answer at all is often harder to deal with than a direct decline
- [03:52] A real-life example of why you shouldn’t assume, “Not right now,” means No.
- [06:26] The downward spiral that we want you to avoid!
- [08:30] What to do when a podcast host asks you to follow-up later
- [19:58] How to incorporate feedback and make your outreach stronger
- [24:07] How many declines are too many?
