Harry Potter is suddenly that student: hand up, answers right, and every professor stunned that he is quietly top of the class. Hermione wrestles with feeling shown up, Neville basks in his Patronus success, and Harry urges him to get his own wand before the next crisis hits. In the stands, Harry, Neville, and Luna watch a brutal Gryffindor vs Slytherin match as “Weasley Is Our King” rains down and Ron crumbles in goal. After the loss, Harry retreats to the dungeons where Severus checks his healing hand, calls him a capable student at last, and listens as Harry finally talks through the World Cup, the Dark Mark, Crouch Jr., Moody, and the worst of fourth year. The chapter closes with Dobby and a pair of potions, as Snape quietly continues his revenge campaign against Umbridge.
