A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: "Faith and works" was the topic of our congregation's Bible study last night on James 2. Pastor Anderson underscored the idea that faith is more than a cognitive activity, but involves the whole person. Hebrews 11 speaks of faith as "the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." But, then the write describes many people of faith who showed their faith by their actions. Martin Luther said faith "is a living, busy, active thing." It is a relationship that we have with our Lord and Savior which enables us to do the good He desires. What a privilege to serve Him by faith!
