  • In Chicago, in the early thirties, gang wars are an everyday occurrence. Mobster Louie Carboni is used to such violence. But what can the hideous decapitation murders of seven college professors, courtesy of a maniac dubbed the Mangler, have to do with the mob? And what does the mob’s personal doctor – Dr. Stein – have to do with the murdering Mangler? The answer lies in the Mangler himself – a monster who once was a man – as well as in the true identity of Dr. Stein, who has a very illustrious if infamous heritage. And by the end of this lightning-streaked, stormy night, gangster Carboni’s status as head man in town will be brutally challenged.
