Liberty is our rescued Alaskan malamute with a gift for accidental wisdom. She’s older, deaf, loyal, and completely unbothered by what anyone thinks. She barges into rooms like a juggernaut, paces her daily circuits like it’s her job, and when she needs to go, she goes, even if we’re standing in the middle of the road. Watching her makes me laugh, but it also makes me ask a harder question: what would it feel like to be that free on the inside?
