  • We Are Beloved Sons & Daughters with Fr. Justin Echevarria
    Jul 25 2025

    In this episode, Ramon sits down with Fr. Justin Echevarria to discuss the idea of beloved sonship and daughtership in God the Father and discerning one's vocation.

    Guiding Scripture:
    The LORD is my shepherd;
    there is nothing I lack.

    In green pastures he makes me lie down;
    to still waters he leads me.

    He restores my soul.
    He guides me along right paths
    for the sake of his name.

    Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff comfort me.

    You set a table before me
    in front of my enemies;
    You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.

    Indeed, goodness and mercy will pursue me
    all the days of my life;
    I will dwell in the house of the LORD
    for endless days.

  • Regardless
    May 31 2022

    Welcome to the A Beloved Son Podcast!

    In this episode, Ramon reflects on what it means to love regardless.

    Guiding Quote:
    Intense love does not measure, it just gives.
    — St. Teresa of Calcutta

    Guiding reflection:
    “We do not pretend that life is all beauty. We are aware of darkness and sin, of poverty and pain. But we know Jesus has conquered sin and passed through his own pain to the glory of the Resurrection. And we live in the light of his Paschal Mystery – the mystery of his Death and Resurrection. We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!”
    — St. John Paul II

  • In the Year of Surrender
    Mar 29 2022

    Welcome to the A Beloved Son Podcast!

    In this episode, Ramon reflects on his word of the year for 2021.

    Guiding quote:
    Don’t get upset with your imperfections. It’s a great mistake because it leads nowhere – to get angry because you are angry, upset at being upset, depressed at being depressed, disappointed because you are disappointed. So don’t fool yourself. Simply surrender to the Power of God’s Love, which is always greater than our weakness.
    — St. Francis de Sales

    Surrender Novena Day 2:
    "Surrender to me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to me a worried prayer asking me to follow you and change your worry into prayer. It is against this surrender, deeply against it, to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything. It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts get in their mother’s way. Surrender means to placidly close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and to put yourself in my care, so that only I act, saying, “You take care of it.”

  • In The Year of Abide
    Jan 24 2022

    Welcome to the A Beloved Son Podcast!

    In this episode, Ramon reflects on his word of the year for 2020.

    Guiding quote:
    A new beginning!
    We must learn to live each day, each hour, yes, each minute as a new beginning, as a unique opportunity to make everything new.
    Imagine that we could live each moment as a moment pregnant with new life.
    Imagine that we could live each day as a day full of promises.
    Imagine that we could walk through the new year always listening to a voice saying to us:
    “I have a gift for you and can’t wait for you to see it! Imagine!
    — Henri Nouwen

  • God Cannot Inspire Unrealizable Desires
    Oct 4 2021

    Welcome to the A Beloved Son Podcast!

    In this episode, Ramon reflects on quitting his job, the 2021 Rosary Bowl NW, and an inspiring talk.

    SHOW NOTES:

    St. Therese of Lisieux Quotes:
    "Instead of becoming discouraged, I said to myself: God cannot inspire unrealizable desires. I can then, in spite of my littleness aspire to holiness."

    "Do not let your weakness make you unhappy. When, in the morning, we feel no courage or strength for the practice of virtue, it is really a grace: it is the time to 'lay the axe at the foot of the tree,' relying on Jesus alone."
