    Ludwig has chosen Fruitvale Station (85mins), his first feature film working with frequent collaborator director Ryan Coogler. The 2013 movie stars Michael B. Jordan, Melonie Diaz, Kevin Durand, Chad Michael Murray and Octavia Spencer.

    Sam and Ludwig discuss his long working relationship with Ryan Coogler, including working together on his new film Sinners, and composing the score for their first film Fruitvale Station.

    In episode 136 Sam is joined by film critic and author Tim Robey. Tim's book Box Office Poison: Hollywood’s Story in a Century of Flops is available now in all good bookshops.

    Tim has chosen Supernova (90 mins) from 2000. With five uncredited directors, including Walter Hill and Francis Ford Coppola, the film stars James Spader, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Peter Facinelli.

    Sam and Tim discuss what defines a box office flop, the disastrous production of Supernova, and why it is the worst film to appear on the podcast so far.

    In episode 135 Sam is joined by actor Tuppence Middleton. She has written a memoir, Scorpions, about growing up and living with OCD.

    Tuppence has chosen Days of the Bagnold Summer (86 mins). Directed by Simon Bird, and based on the graphic novel of the same name, the film stars Monica Dolan and Earl Cave with original music by Belle and Sebastian.

    Sam and Tuppence discuss writing her first book, Simon Bird's elegant directing style, and how well the film presents the central mother and son relationship.

    In this 90 Minutes or Less Spotlight episode animation filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis talks to Sam about his new movie Flow (84 mins).

    Flow was made on free open-source software Blender, and since recording the film has gone on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. It's the first Latvian film to win an Academy Award.
