Hi mama,
This episode is about the power and responsibility of leadership, starting with leading yourself well. I share how John Wooden unexpectedly shaped my understanding of leadership not through basketball, but through his focus on character, purpose, and the impact leaders have on people’s lives.
We talk about the leadership wounds many of us carry from coaches, teachers, bosses, parents, and public leaders who didn’t lead well, and how those experiences shape us more than we realize.
I also compare what good leadership actually looks like, using Gladiator and the character of Maximus as an example of the kind of leader people willingly follow - strong, principled, and willing to sacrifice for others.
The episode closes with a challenge to look beyond excuses and limitations and recognize that leadership doesn’t start someday, it starts now, right where you are, because someone is already watching how you live.
